Join us for a free lecture from 5:30 – 7 PM in our McGovern Theater followed by a mixer from 7 – 10 PM hosted by Kaleidoscope!

This month’s lecture:
Music: Medicine for the Brain.

Presenters: Marial Biard, MM, MT-BC, Neurological Music Therapist; Christian Niedzwecki, DO Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician; Steven Z. Wirt, OTR, MS Registered Occupational Therapist, and special guests, the Loring Family
This lecture focuses on an understanding of the developing brain when trauma has occurred and the unique facets in how music is being incorporated into patients treatment process to help expedite their rehabilitation. Presenters will provide the unique perspective of how music helps heal brain injury and combines with traditional rehabilitative treatment in children. Imagine speckled frogs, paddle drums, and the recording artist Drake playing an integral role in how quickly our kiddos are healing.

The lecture will be followed by a mixer event presented in collaboration with Kaleidoscope Houston.

Fashion – showcase curated by Kaleidoscope Houston for fashion designer Jamel Hawk.
